I have an account with Dream Host, signed up 10 days ago. It was for a new site of a friend. From 10 days the site is pratically unusable 'cause of a serious disservice of the DreamHost Bingly cluster, where the site is hosted.

The cluster has problems on the filer and the staff is trying to clear space on that device to make the sites working again.

This is my "2 cents" tip for them:

  • print al list of all customers hosted on Blingy cluster
  • order that list by site volume, descending
  • take a pill and go to bed
  • have 8 good hours of sleep
  • unplug that network cable from Blingy and isolate it from the network
  • stop all services: apache, mysql, cron, ... and wait the server to calm down
  • move a lot of sites to other clusters
  • restart Blingy

Can that work?
